I like what I see so far

I, for one, am very pleased with the coaching staff so far. The problems I see on the field is more mental mistakes and execution than coaching errors.

During last nights game I witnessed receivers altering routes after the ball is in the air. That can't happen in any offensive systems. The QB still looks nervous and causes his own pressure by scrambling in the backfield into pressure, but it looks like the coaches are calling plays to help him reduce mistakes. Throwing the ball after passing the line of scrimmage was a huge penalty though. It was 3rd & 2 and he could have run for at least 5 yards before being touched by the nearest defender. Also, we just need guys to step it up and make plays when it's there to be made. Too many dropped passes in critical situations. But for the most part, we had people open all night.

I thought the defense played well until #52 got hurt. He made alot of plays on the fullback all night but once he got knocked out of the game, the back-up struggled. I think it was #44. The pass interference on #10 and the offsides penalty on #93 were just dumb mistakes in a critcal time.

When playing good teams like Navy, who win and play in bowl games every year, you just can't have mental errors if you expect to beat them.

I agree he could have run for the first, but I thought the penalty was actually for illegal man downfield, which is not Bo's fault.

If he runs - there is no man down field penalty. He should have run - make the sure first down and slide.

Yes, but he rarely runs and the o-line knows that. They should not be assuming he is going to run.

It was his fault because the illegal man downfield was the olineman blocking in front of him. he felt the QB coming behind him and blocked the man up field. he felt the QB was going to run it. I thought the same thing. when he threw it, i knew it was a penalty.

The problem with an OT loss is you can pick out almost any play that would have won the game for you - but I agree he should have run - he looked committed - and then threw where he would have easily run to anyway. I know JJ HATES running qb's and Bo has undoubtedly had that drummed into him - but I thought his best plays last night were when he was determined to keep his drives alive and run for a couple of first downs....Also keeps LB's a little more honest.

also I am dumbfounded as to why the hot hand - McNeil did not stay in the game more and get his number called more - they had no answer for him in the open field - and then his running set up the fake dive, outlet pass that they also could not stop.
