Psychopath SMU employee name Ricardo
Posted: Sun Oct 18, 2009 1:23 pmSo it's around the end of the 1st quarter and I'm heading out of the southeast gate because I need to get my medicine from my automobile. I was also pondering a quick dash home to change clothing since I was wearing shorts and a polo and at 4pm that was fine, but by 7:45pm it was COLD.
Anyway, I kindly inquire to the young lady working the door if I can come back in and, if not, do I need to have another ticket available. I didnt get the above sentence out of my mouth when some guy RAN, yes RAN, from outside to the turnstile, put his hands on me and said " You dont talk to her. You talk to me, I can help you." I'm not one of those people who minds being touched by strangers, but this random guy just sprints up to me and puts his hand on me, so I'm a little disconcerted. My first bewildered response is "Who are you, sir?" He responds "Whats the problem here?" My response: "I was just asking about the re-entry policy or if..." that was as much as I got out of my mouth before the guys says" "Thats It!" and RUNS back out of the stadium. He comes back with a police officer. He points at me and says "This guy needs to leave! This guy is causing problems!" The officer is intially a little wary and asks me whats the problem. I calmly respond that I was just trying to ask the ticket girl one question when this guy, named Ricardo, confronted me and that there was no problem. Ricardo is very animated while I am very calm throughout this whole ordeal. The police officer notices this and i point it out that i am not doing anything while this Ricardo clown is the one acting crazy. The Ricardo guy storms off when the officer informs us both that "You can come in and out of this gate as long as I'm here. And i will be here the entire game."
So, long story. A few additional notes:
1) I was NOT intoxicated in any way, shape or form. I wish I had been.
2) The above is the exact transcript. I am a smart [deleted], but I made no smart [deleted] comments during the exchange. To be honest, i was so stunned by the events that I wasnt thinking clearly. it happened so fast.
3) When the officer sided with me, I asked the employee his name and who he worked for and his response was that his name was "Ricardo" and he worked for SMU. I asked "Do you work for the security company or for SMU proper?" He responded that he works for SMU.
I am hopeful that he works for SMU because i am looking forward to monday morning when i get on the phone with certain persons at SMU Athletics to find out who this person is and why he feels he can put his hands on someone and act like a freaking psychopath.
Last point...I know this sounds incredibly one-sided but the above is EXACTLY how this sad scene played out. It was surreal. I am kicking myself for not getting the officers name so that he could provide a witness for what he saw, but I think when the officer sides with me thats a pretty damning statement.
