Half of the two deep on the DL consists of true freshmen. Nick Riser (Fr) has been starting since the opener.

Not encouraging when the coach even remarks how difficult a task it will be.

You are right Pony in SA. A large mountain to climb? I have heard of complimenting the opponent but if our guys go into any game thinking they have little chance of winning, then it is time for a coaching staff change. I guess we don't stand a chance against UTEP ! How about if the coaches and players prepare and do their jobs with great effort, I like our chances! I think that attitude may have cost us a game or two in which the players had more confidence than some of the coaches and we panicked when we were up several touchdowns on some teams we weren't convinced we could beat.

Hey at least he is realistic. It will be a huge challenge for us to go on the road and beat a Houston team that beat OK State on the road.

Guess it depends on personal preference. I find the realistic perspective highly motivating.

The players know how hard this will be. Saying otherwise will only serve to discredit the motivation attempt.

The staff just can't win with some people.
