aTm situation puts them between a rock and a hard place

Postby SMU 86 » Fri Oct 23, 2009 9:42 pm

AD gave Mike Sherman a 7 year deal with a buyout that says that if he is fired for every month left on his contract he gets $150,000. In other words,it would seem that there are no must win games for Mike Sherman. Their boards are almost comical and yet depressing to read because they can't do anything about it because they do not have enough money to buyout the contract. They just complaining that they should of hired Kevin Sumlin, Charlie Strong, or Paul Johnson. They are now kicking around Jon Gruden but know it will be 5 more years of Mike Sherman.

I hear that Tech is down to 3rd String QB tommorrow Seth Doege-if you got a bet. Tech will probably still win in Lubbock.

Colorado is in the same situation. In both cases though, enough losses will bring in enough money and/or make it worth it to buy them out. I keep hoping CU will win just enough games to keep Hawkins around one more year.

Also the same reason Charlie Weis is still around.

Let them stew in their own mess. Aggie wailing is a soothing melody. After Coach Fran, in their myopic pursuit to getting one of their "own", they forgot to hire someone who could coach the college game.

5 more years of Aggie whining won't come close to giving me a headache.

I think they have to give sherman a chance thru next season. The KSU game was a bit of an abberation. The Ok State game was actually kind of close. The aggies have some talent and have played well at Kyle field so give the guy a chance even though I relish in them losing.

You must also ask yourself whether or not Johnson, Strong, or Sumlin would have even gone to AandM? as it worked out Johnson and Sumlin are pretty happy campers at their respective programs.

I don't know about Johnson or Strong but Sumlin (who actually coached at aTm before I think) actually wanted to go to aTm.

he deserves some more time but there is absolutely no excuse for that fiasco. A&M has some major talent on that team-not Top 20 talent but they should expect to beat a very poor K-State team and should in any event be competitive with the lower half of the Big 12 especially the North. No matter the situation some well jump to the conclusion that the cupboard was bare-not always true. They did beat UT two years in a row.

I would love to see us go to College Station in a couple of years and just rip the Aggies apart. Of course that would mean that they'd never, ever schedule us again.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

They didn't get into this mess overnight and it will take some time to get out of it regardless of the coach...............

Agreed- the only thing better would be to rip them with Jackie Sherrill as their coach.

GO PONIES!!!
