Worst Refs Ever

OK so far here is what they have done:
1. Came back from booth review on BLMs fumble when they were trying to determine if it was a UH TD, and says its SMU ball. No one could believe it...Then he corrects himself 30 seconds later and says its UH ball
2. TV goes to a full 3 minute commercial for the end of the 1st quarter. When they come back the refs decide there is still time on the clock because the ball went out of bounds
3. ES catch called incomplete after review. No one even thought the catch was in question. Should have been 1st and goal from 1 for SMU. Instead we are forced to kick FG
4. Sterling Moore P.I. call was one of the worst calls I have ever seen.
And this is only the 1st half!

Sucks so bad that the refs take away from the game

Have you also noticed that the ref stutters pretty badly every time he comes out of a booth review?

Agreed 100% on this one:
4. Sterling Moore P.I. call was one of the worst calls I have ever seen.
The back judge was right there and looked straight into the players eyes and didn't throw the flag. The side judge who is running down the field throws it. WOW...

The only call I had a problem with was the fumble by Johnson.
Looked like 40 was out of bounds to me & never really had position of the ball.
Never showed replays on the opening kick off so who knows what happened there.
Dropped passes, fumbles, penalty= VERY SLOPPY L

I disn't have a problem with ANY of those calls. At first I thought that UH never had possession on Darius Jiohnson's fumble but replay showed otherwise. Whining about non-existent Referee mistakes.

The refs didn't cost us this game, but that PI call was (Robert Wilonsky voice) terrrrrrible. Then a few plays later we tackle the guy before the ball arrives and there is no call. Really inconsistent.
I just wish we could get some consistent and competent refs.

Independant of the calls the refs were bad. They seemed confused several times on who had possession and which way they were going. Not their best effort Im sure.

I think some of the bad calls were in our favor though.
One that comes to mind is the clipping call on the guy who blocked Margus Hunt when Keenum was scrambling. It sure looked like the guy just blocked him low from the front, which is legal in that situation.
On TV they never showed Mojica's hold on the first-play kickoff return, but Mojica had that "guilty" body language when the flag flew ...

I disagree. 1, 2 and 3 were called correctly, but the PI call was bogus from any replay angle.

On the first replay they showed of the Johnson fumble, you see the UH player jump on the ball inbounds and roll to his shoulder out of bounds. When he rolled to his shoulder, he was bobbling the ball. He didn't have clear possession. The other replays were from behind. You couldn't see the ball.

Don't forget that they missed an incredibly obvious PI call on McCann in the endzone. He practically tackled the guy before the ball got there. Possible makeup for the Sterling Moore call? I still don't understand the Sanders call. Looked like his knee and elbow were down before the ball came out.
I sure wish CBS CS would've shown a replay of the holding call on the opening kickoff. With as bad as our special teams have been, I don't doubt that it happened...but I would've like to have seen proof.
Apparently, Gerald Austin, the head of officials from CUSA was in attendance. He'll surely be reviewing plenty of calls from this one.

Actually the worst call, IMHO, (did not really look at the PI call) was the call on the Sanders incomplete, especially after the review. Here is why, the replay showed his knee hit short of the TD, fine, but he had possession at that point. Then he lunged and bobbled the ball a bit after the play was already done.

I thought ground could not cause fumble but could cause incomplete pass-he definitely bobbled it. It was close-but hold onto it and there is no dispute
