Let the "Who should be the QB of the future debate begin."Pardon seems to have more mobility than BLM. I will wait till several more games before I am ready to throw BLM overboard.
GO MUSTANGS!
Re: Let the "Who should be the QB of the future debate begin."Give me Braden Smith..I will take a coaches kid every time.

Smith can't make the throws
Re: Let the "Who should be the QB of the future debate begin."Padron has an arm and mobility, Smith is mobile but not much of a threat passing the ball. Smith's throwing motion looks more like a shot-putter than a QB.

Re: Let the "Who should be the QB of the future debate begin."Most of the time Smith was in the game, you knew a run was coming. If I caught on to that, I am sure professional coaches noticed it as well. Padron needs to make better decisions. He handled himself, and the offense, fairly well for a true freshman playing in his first game. But there are a lot of areas he needs to improve on.

Re: Let the "Who should be the QB of the future debate begin."At this point, I'll take either one. Tired of seeing Bo make dumb mistakes. He should have thrown the ball away in the endzone prior to getting tackled and fumbling the ball. He's had his chance. I'm done with him.
Re: Let the "Who should be the QB of the future debate begin."JJ basically said BLM will be back at QB next week. Shoulder separation will keep him sore for a few days but the freshmen QBs didn't know the plays. I thought Padron played pretty well, but did either he or Smith alter the course of the game? Weren't there more drops when BLM was in the game?
Re: Let the "Who should be the QB of the future debate begin."It has to be BLM.
Anybody else will set the program back by 2 or 3 years unless JJ can recruit a blue chip top 10 player. Even if he did, it would take 2 years minimum to even start. If BLM, kiss 2010, next year good bye. As much as BLM did not do that well this year, he did way better than any QB at JJ's R&S at Hawaii when it came down to INTs. BLM looked like 2010 QB. Big time. I hope he plays soon. I wish I got to see him play on TV today.
Re: Let the "Who should be the QB of the future debate begin."The more Pardon plays the better he will get. Go with Pardon if Bo is not 100%. And even if Bo is 100% Padron should get some consideration. Now that the redshirt is off let's get some competition going.

Re: Let the "Who should be the QB of the future debate begin."Has BLM been 100% in any game this year? Between illness and injury, I don't recall his ever being 100% healthy...but that's football.
Houston was not likely going to be a game we could win, so if BLM is able to return and the injury is not that serious (non-throwing arm), at least we come away from this game with the FR QBs having taken some snaps in a real game against good competition. That can only help down the road.
Re: Let the "Who should be the QB of the future debate begin."
I agree that if BLM can go it needs to be him, but now that Padron has lost his redshirt hopefuly they will get him some snaps too. Also, I see no problem with getting Braden a few snaps too, even if the defense knows they will be running plays it still makes them think about it. BLM looked pretty good before he got hurt (on a play where he looked terrible). There were 2 or 3 drops by receivers who he hit in stride deep (including the play right before he was hurt) or it would have looked a lot better. The one bad throw that I recall was on 3rd and fifteen where he threw short on the crossing pattern so the wr had to go to the ground to catch the ball short of the first down line. The moronic color guy tried to blame the wr for running a short route, but it was obvious that if BLM makes a good throw he catches it in stride and gets the first. Let's not forget, he has now gone 3 games without throwing an interception...
Re: Let the "Who should be the QB of the future debate begin."
if BLM is seriously coming back next week why the hell did we waste padron's redshirt in a game we were already getting blown out in?

Exactly! That was a unfortunate waste of a redshirt on a game that we were not going to win... Padron is a real talent and it seems pretty obvious that Smith can run but may not have the arm strength to master this offense with the deep throws that are needed.
Re: Let the "Who should be the QB of the future debate begin."
To be fair, it was just 14-0 when he came in. Also, I imagine that JJ might have known more about the extent of BLM's injury by the end of the game than he did 2 minutes after it happened when he had to decide whether or not to put Padron in. Perhaps initially they thought it was a more serious injury.
Re: Let the "Who should be the QB of the future debate begin."
Understood, but why bring the third string QB in..why didn't he just run with the second string QB Smith?
