Texas Tech Fans Chant "No More Potts"

that is one of the most classless things I've ever heard from a hometown team. Its not like the rest of the team shouldn't shoulder much of the blame. Potts was 25-36 for 310 yards-a 69.4% completion rate-his play was called ineffective-and yes threw a couple of Ints-(a normal SMU game). But the Tech defense gave up 560 yards and 34 First Downs. If they stop the Aggies once in awhile he might have been ineffective with 500 yards passing. Plus the kid is coming back from a concussion-I had heard he wasn't even going to play by several Texas Tech sources. You never boo the home team

Texas Tech and classless go together like Gin and tonic.

Idiots. Maybe we can use that as a recruiting tool. Come play for the well mannered fans of SMU! (Just don't read the message boards.)

Par for the course from some of the most classless fans in all of sports. Give me Philly fans any day over those jerks in Lubbock.

Talked to the Navy staff after the game last week and there were not "high marks" given to the tt program or their fans.

They may be suffering from desolate isolationism.

Navy and TT have about as much in common as Nancy Pelosi and Karl Rove when it comes to sportsmanship

Please...don't insult my gin and tonics. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I doubt Navy will ever have anything nice to say about Texas Tech after TT TRIED to run the score up on the them in the 2003 Houston Bowl by throwing a very late touchdown when the game was well decided...

Every thrashing Tech gets they absolutely deserve...

Running up the score was small potatos compared to their planned celebration where the offense huddled together in the end zone and then pretended the football was a bomb. After the ball hit the ground, all of the players fell down.

Exactly, that was one of the worse. What made it even more classless was when Leech was asked about it in the post game and said he did not have a problem with it and that Navy should have understood. For those of us with family members who serve so people like Leech can have their job there is no excuse for Leech or what he does.

I was at the Tech game. The chant came from the student section in the endzone. Most everyone around me were appalled by that chant (even if they agreed with the general idea that Potts was not the guy that could lead the team in a comeback).

That said, I have heard and seen plenty of SMU fans yell negative things or boo its own players. Texas Tech does not have a monopoly on classless fans (and at least their students go to games in droves and over an hour before kickoff). Just make sure if you're one of the people calling the kettle black, that you don't see a pot when you look in the mirror.
