Re: Survey: College Sports in Need of Financial ReformYA THINK???!!!
They'll discuss everything but the real issues - the bcs-BS!!! & Title IX! This is what happens when you get a bunch of bureaucrats, technocrats, & libs all together!!! What's the old saying: "A camel is a horse designed by a committee." BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
Re: Survey: College Sports in Need of Financial ReformAgree, Navy. Costs are out of control though. The thing that really made the NFL viable though was equalising revenues for all the clubs. Without that and the subsequent caps on payrolls, the NFL would be in trouble. College sports are in big trouble except for a few of the "big dogs."
Re: Survey: College Sports in Need of Financial ReformThe most telling comment was the large number of college presidents that felt that they were not in a position to control their university's athletic budgets and expenditures?--a position we all suspected but never really questioned. If they are not, who is...a group of powerful alumns?
"Presidents believe they have "limited power" to change athletics financing on their own campuses."
