Jones: BLM to see another doctor Wednesday

Postby PonyPride » Tue Oct 27, 2009 4:24 pm

Head coach June Jones said Tuesday that the MRI on quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell's left (non-throwing) shoulder showed "some kind of soft-tissue injury," and said Mitchell would see an additional doctor Wednesday before any determination can be made when he will return to the field, or even to practice on a full-time basis. Jones said surgery on Mitchell's injured shoulder is a possibility, but by no means a certainty ... basically playing "wait and see" until further notice.

I guess you could read it that way. I got the sense that if Mitchell is cleared to play, and feels good, he'll play. But Jones and QBs coach Dan Morrison clearly have some faith in Padron and Smith, too.

In addition, Jones said Monday that if Mitchell can't go Saturday in Tulsa, Padron "might" get the start. Today he said that if Mitchell is forced to sit out, Padron will start.

From what we all saw last Saturday BLM's hold on the QB postion for the future is anything but a done deal.

I just want him healthy enough to compete for the job. After that, I'll defer to the coaches — they seem to know a thing or two about QBs.

I tore my labrum about three years ago in a drunken parking lot incident that I was too old to be participating in, and I can tell you that hurts like hell. 6 months of physical therapy, and I still can't throw a football anymore to save my life. I can see why it could keep you out of the game even if its not your throwing shoulder. It's a sharp debilitating type of pain that sneaks up on you
Wish Bo a speedy recovery, and thanks PP for the update

But could you throw a football before the injury???

Clearly our best chance to win is with Bo. He has the experience and when he focuses he can get the job done. But we need him well and not only half well.
