TULSA, Okla. – For proof that it's not the same ol' story with SMU this season, just look at the defense.

The Mustangs held Tulsa to two touchdowns, well below its average of 29.9 points per game, in Saturday's 27-13 win. The Mustangs hadn't held an opponent to a lower point total since beating UAB, 22-9, in 2006.

Offense and defense better. We beat our averages on both counts and beat Tulsa's average stats.
