Rice game scares me a little

They've had way too much success against us in the past, and they're something of a rival.
Talent-wise, we should kill them but I'm having nightmares about that winless TCU team a dozen (or so) years ago that kept us from being bowl-eligible. But they've had our number in recent years, to a degree, and as excited as we all are about the win over Tulsa, we're still growing as a team, and learning how to win.
We might be favored by 16, or by 116, but as long as we win by one point, I'll be thrilled.

I feel the same way. Rice scares the hell out of me. Irrational, but not unfounded. I just want a win, period

Trap game.
They gotta stay really focused, and when they get a lead, they need to put a boot on Rice's collective jugular. Todd Dodge, while he was at SLC, once admitted in an interview that his strategy was to break the spirit of the opposing team by going up quickly and then stepping on their throats.
That approach is appropriate here.

They scare me because we have to suffer their co-eds being on our campus for a whole 4 hours.

They're a hell of a lot better than those at Tulsa, UTEP, Marshall and Houston.

You need to look for the Official Girls of Rice Ensemble. It is under OGRE.com
