"Kyle's got a presence about him," receiver Emmanuel Sanders said. "He's got guys believing."

Still not sure he's the one that'll be starting this week. I kind of hope he is though.

Sounded like from the DMN he was going to get most of the first team reps but it also seems like it will be another game time decision. :?

Kyle looked real good to me. I hope to see more of him next week. This was a great win!

Jaws,
Book it. Padron will start. Padron's shoulder injury. Don't think for a moment that Sanders' quote had an intention of who he and the rest of the WRs would prefer working with.

Barring injury, I think the days of Bo Levi Mitchell running the SMU Run and Shoot are over.

There is an old theory is you don't lose a starting job because of injury. But Jones has an out. When you've had about 17 games to show if you can do this or not and your results are so inconsistent.

Knowing where Padron came from in HS and how well prepared he was for this type of offense -- the speed of the college game notwithstanding -- he was so far ahead of Mitchell before he took his first college snap against Houston.

Those Carroll QBs start preparing for the fall season in January. They just understand how to play it and they can handle this type of system.

He didn't throw 354 yards and 2 TDs because he didn't know what he was doing. He hade been through this before.

Again, what's best for this team? I think Emmanuel Sanders just answered your question.

You may be right, but I'll believe it when I see it. I get the same vibe from Jones about Padron's status as I did about Willis's status when he first got here, and we all know what happened then.

I'll say this, Padron has exactly one start, but he showed more "presence" (to borrow a phrase) in one game than Mitchell has shown in 1-1/2 years as a starter. Not a knock on Mitchell personally (because I won't do that here) but an observation. I hope Jones makes him the continuing starter.

I think it is real simple.

You ride the horse until he starts having a bad game and then you have Bo (or visa versa) to put in.

Jones has demonstrated tremendous dislike for taking his quarterbacks out of a game. If one starts, expect them to finish.

I suspect BLM will still be "recovering" for the Rice game.

The comments I heard while watching the game were how much Padron reminded everyone of Lance when he got his first start in Austin in '80. He came on and had a take charge air about him, not unlike Padron. Both were fun to watch.

Nice post. I'm with you 100%. Props to BLM, but it appears his time is up.
