thanks 86

interesting Coach Reinebold talking about Padron's natural ability to hit a receiver in
full stride which allows for many more big gainers.

also interesting that he speaks about Padron's ability to move away from trouble in
the pocket and "extend the play"....as opposed to panicking and throwing an INT or
take off running.

if Padron has a big game against Rice.....the Gunslinger should be worried.

He should be worried right now, for his days of starting at SMU have reached an end. Perhaps he will have success at the NAIA level.

Gosh Samurai Stang don't run Bo off yet...don't ya think if Padron ends up the starter it's a plus to have a guy behind the starter that can step in, knows this offense, and has started almost 20 college football games?

If he knew the offense he would not be losing his position to a true freshman.

Wow, the bags under Coach Reinbold's eyes sure have gotten bigger! Coach Reinbold (Sun God to Hawaii fans) was known as a hard-working 24/7 coach, definitely the hardest-working recruiter that JJ had. Looking at the bags under his eyes I'm sure that his work ethic hasn't change at all...

Add to that JJ's "pretty awesome" description and I think the coaches are actually letting themselves get a little excited about Padron, like the rest of us.

Coaching at S.M.U. will do that to you, loss of hair and teeth as well.

We feel really lucky to have Coach Reinbold at Smu. I think he had been wearing sunglasses and took them off to do the interview. Suddenly facing the sun, squinting(it's very bright sunny in Dallas today) just made his eyes look worse than they are. I have spoke face to face with him recently and he doesn't always look like that. By the way great interview Josh.

What an idiotic statement. Anyone who knows the offense should play ahead of a freshman? Let's petition the NCAA to make Dan Morrison eligible, since he knows it better than either of them. Besides, he hasn't lost anything yet. He got hurt, and Padron played very well in his absence. Will Padron keep the starting job after Mitchell returns to good health? Maybe, maybe not — that remains to be seen. Chances are good both will play again, maybe this season. If Padron keeps the job, chances are he will jump the tracks every now and then as he goes through the same learning curve Mitchell is (still) going through and have bad games. It happens. I hope they're both healthy and both play great and give Coach Jones a really tough decision about who to play. Hell, I hope Smith and McDermott and Kaiser make that decision even tougher. To suggest that BLM "lost" this job is wrong (sure sounds like no long-term decisions have been made), and to suggest that he doesn't "know the offense" also is silly. If Coach Jones and Coach Morrison have applauded him for how well he knows the offense, it's pretty asinine of us to suggest he doesn't know it.

Go quarterbacks, go Ponies — BEAT RICE!
