Duke Loses--Not Bowl Eligible YetWe need to win one of the next two. I will be pissed if Duke becomes bowl eligible before us.
Re: Duke Loses--Not Bowl Eligible YetDuke needs two more anyway, because one of the current five wins does not count (it was over a FCS team that doesn't have enough scholly players to count as a FBS win, which, by the way, is fricking pathetic).
Anyway, Duke fans' frustrations are not remotely comparable to SMU's. We are still in our natural and traditional conference (even if we did have to let in those yokels from Blacksburg). We are still in the top echelon of basketball programs. And hell, even in football, a drought since 1994 does not compare to a drought since 1984. Will be nice for SMU to break through first.
Re: Duke Loses--Not Bowl Eligible YetIf wimpy Temple can do it and become bowl eligible.....geez we have to do it.
Re: Duke Loses--Not Bowl Eligible Yet
Make sure to roll your windows up when driving through Blacksburg...
Re: Duke Loses--Not Bowl Eligible YetOne win against an FCS team does count. You are not allowed to count more than one. Since Duke LOST to one of the FCS teams, their one win does count.
The fact that their fans don't even know what the bowl eligibility rules are makes just one more reason why we need to show better results sooner.
Re: Duke Loses--Not Bowl Eligible Yet
huskerpony, first off I am here as an SMU fan, which I've been since long before I went to Duke, so please save the references to "their fans," thanks. (And this from someone with "husker" first in his or her screenname, lol.) Anyhoo, I don't appreciate your tone and your insinuation that I'm ignorant. So would you please check the NCAA rules on FBS eligibility with respect to a win over an FCS team that does not have a minimum number of scholarship players? Then please refer to the number of scholarship players on roster for NC Central? Then let's revisit the ways in which one of us does not know the bowl-eligibility rules. Go Ponies.
