Time to back the players and coaches. I looked at the depth chart and it looks like a lot of freshmen and soph. JJ went for the long term. He usually stocks up on QBs and goes for the JC recruits for the quick fix. At Hawaii, he recruited 12 to 16 QBs. He could use the ones who couldn't make the cut as safeties, LBs, receivers, RBs, etc. The fact that at SMU's mid season, JJ has 2 QBs that can start anytime.

I say that JJ is good at motivating OVER ACHIEVIEWERS. He is one year ahead of schedule. I am biased but what do you SMU regulars say now that we are 5-4?

Anything beyond this is gravy!!!

We should do better but at this point, you have to admit that this is a predominately soph and frosh team. That is a miracle!

The future looks great and recruiting should be better.

We were 6-6 in 2006. We could still end up 5-8. It's still to early imo.

It would be pretty damn difficult to end up 5-8. 5-7, yes, but if we lose the last three, I don't think we will go to the conference championship game.

Sorry, meant to say 5-7. And this is SMU. We could very well drop our last 3. We just shouldn't get our hopes up. When we get 7 wins we can celebrate.

Peruna's Law is still out there potentially. When we receive an actual BOWL INVITATION, or get that 7th win, then it will be officially declared.

The next 3 games will be tough.
