william and mary ranked higher than a&m... that wouldnt even be close

I don't think they should be used as rankings -more of a snapshot of relative strength anong schools that are otherwise difficult to compare because they play in different conferences etc.

Rice moved up...weren't they 172 last week?

Their strength of schedule improved by playing SMU!!!!

Well we were supposed to beat Rice by solid double digits so we would move down and Rice would move up.

As I have mentioned, there are 3 different rankings on that page if you look closely. There is Sagarin's ranking (which only considers margin of victory; has SMU at 89) ; there is Sagarin's ranking that is used for the BCS (which only considers wins and losses; has SMU at 64); and there is the one that is to the left of the page that is used to actually rank the teams on the page, which Sagarin refers to as a "blended" average of the other two rankings, which has SMU at 79.

Not really. Beating Rice wasn't going to help our rating.
