We will see who all extends an offer. Hawaii Bowl has shown open interest in SMU and the Armed Services Bowl in beautiful Fort Worth, TX has not.

15,000 for Homecoming- I don't think its strange but rather a realization that if for some reason we don't go to Hawaii-the Ft. Worth Bowl is the ONLY bowl that would make financial sense. CUSA is basically going to place teams where it makes most financial sense.

Hawai'i Bowl on Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve Day) at 3 p.m. (7 p.m. Dallas time)
Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl on Dec. 31 (New Year's Eve Day) at 11 a.m. in Fort Worth
GMAC Bowl on Jan. 6 at 6 p.m. in Mobile, AL
From a fan support/attendance standpoint, Fort Worth makes a lot more sense, don't ya'll think?

GMAC and Armed Services Bowls are both bottom feeder bowls as far as TV ratings are concerned. But if for some reason the Hawaii Bowl does not offer, the Amred Serviced Bowl would probably be the next choice.

I agree that Fort Worth makes financial sense, but I think you are giving the guy doing those predictions way too much credit if you think he is on top of SMU's homecoming attendance and factored that into his projection. I would bet he just has a list of each conference's bowls and standings and goes from there.

I thought that the GMAC bowl did not have a Conf USA tie this year.

for some reason Hawaii Bowl doesn't seem concerned but I'd say No. 1 consideration for most bowls are how many butts in seat school will bring-and that's much more important to W/L record. Actually in the last few years the CUSA office has essentially negotiated where teams go-its been based more on geography than standings. That's why they don't have a real pecking order.

You are correct. GMAC has Mid-American Conference and ACC tie-ins.

I think the ACC is projected to be unable to fill all its bowl slots, allowing the GMAC bowl to take an at large team from another conference.

Let's win the 6th, and ideally 7th and 8th, game(s) before we start talking bowls. Please?
