Getting named a seven-point favorite against a team that already has beaten the two presumed heavyweights of C-USA West in Houston and Tulsa is an indication that SMU finally could be getting some respect. But we're going to have to play well this week to win. UTEP, despite playing like they were hung over against Tulane, is a talented team. If I gambled, I wouldn't touch this game.

Its Jeckle or Hyde.....Vittatoe is a quality QB, but has throw pics in Red Zone often this year, has 2 really good receivers and what can you say about Buckram, the dude is absolutely a beast at RB...their defense has players (Db's are good) but overall the D has really underperformed...SMOO will have to play a really good game without all those penalties, no pics, protect Padron and pressure Vittatoe. Our DB's have to have their A game

Slowing down the run and forcing Vittatoe into 3rd down passing situations is going to be Key. Our defense needs to get the DBs an opportunity for some big turnovers. If they can run at will, we'll have a hard time taking the ball from them and that could be the key stat to the game.

I'll be shocked if the prospect of a bowl eligible 6th win in front of the home crowd doesnt get this team FIRED UP for Sat. This was JJ's goal to start the season and the guys will be ready to accomplish it.
