The SMU OL played well enough to win the Rice game.
But SMU will be playing UTEP this week.
UTEP is not a Rice.
We have a freshman QB with a less than 100% OL.
I would blitz to upset the R&S passing. The UTEP D needs to keep Padron off balanced. They do not have to get sacks but you should expect to get a few sacks if the SMU OL is not 100%. Expect the UTEP coaches to discuize the pass D to confuse Padron.
Even if Enright plays, I expect he will not be 100%. Plus, the OL is very young. So I expect UTEP to pull all the stops and blitz big time.
Padron is only on his second start and just a freshman. Keep him off balanced and the young QB will make poor decisions that could lead to INTs. At the least it could be a 3 and out and keep the SMU offense off the field.
This is not Rice. This is UTEP.
The OL and Padron will be tested.
