SMU's Jones: "We're going to go to Hawaii if we win"

SMU coach June Jones has always been clear that he'd like to take his Mustangs bowling in Hawaii, where he used to coach and has many fans and friends.

As long as the Mustangs earn a berth - they can become bowl-eligible with a win Saturday against UTEP - and don't somehow win the Conference USA championship, Jones is planning on the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl on Dec. 24.

"We're going to go to Hawaii if we win," Jones said after practice today, when asked if he had a bowl preference.

Lets beat UTEP first, but what a great "problem" to have. Which bowl are we going to?

Back in the day would the Mustang Band and Peruna travel to bowl games?

Kate is pushing for the Hawaii Bowl since she knows I will fly out there.

Wait, what's this? An indication that the only bowl that we are considering is the Hawaii Bowl? I think there was someone on this board who has been saying that since August. Who was that again? Oh yes, that's right, it's ME.

I would be wetting-my-pants ecstatic if we go to any bowl. But I think it’s unfortunate for long-suffering fans who have been waiting for this moment for over 20 years, that the bowl they go to would be the one the fewest fans would be able to attend.

Why not pump in the live feed to Moody fill up the stadium and watch the Hawaii bowl. O yeah, no beer…

Agreed .....IF we were to make it to a bowl I would make the trip from Denver to any of one of them .... except Hawaii. But beggars can't be choosers so national TV coverage is OK with me.

Yeah, you did. Who else?

I know that I had to deal with several threads where people questioned the validity of my sources.
