So, do we want TCU to win this weekend?

Postby SMU2007 » Thu Nov 12, 2009 2:58 pm

So i've read the debate on whether or not we should want tcu to win this weekend, but what is the final verdict?

TCU wins - good for mid-major conferences BUT we lose the ability (in the future) to compete for recruits, and lose some of the recognition we might get for making our first bowl in 25 years.

Sounds like we want TCU to lose in my opinion. Thoughts?

Yes. And we want Texas to lose and TCU to beat Florida for the National Championship and for Jerry Hughes to win the Heisman. Then we want Gary Patterson to take the job at Alabama for 10 million a year since Alabama will arrange a buyout for Saban since he couldn't beat Florida. Hopefully, Franchione will come out of retirement and get TCU back to mediocrity.

My niece is a cute TCU cheerleader. Kind of like the SMU cheerleaders that are under 5.

I want TCU to win out. I want Texas to win out. Florida and Bama meet in the SEC Championship game undefeated. Texas meets the winner for the NCG and an undefeated TCU gets locked out.

Hopefully this senario will play out and more people will be mad as Hell at the "BCS system". Will this bust up the BCS, probably not. But anything that can continue to make the BCS look like the phony championship that it is, I am all for it.

I do not consider Cinncinnati and Boise State part of this equation, they are not Top 10 teams. Cincy will lose before the season is over, Boise State will go undefeated. Both Schools fans will be upset when they are left out and the more merrier, I say.

I wish people would stop thinking that these "bcs buster" scenarios are going to make 1 ounce of difference. IT ALREADY HAPPENED LAST YEAR. and it didn't do anything to the BCS. a playoff system isn't going to happen. the bcs is here for a while.

Go utes. I refuse to root for our biggest rival.

What??!?!@?

I want TCU to lose forever and always. I honestly doubt the SMU credentials of anyone who says otherwise (with the possible exception of those with family reasons).

And I have news for everyone. TCU winning out does not help "mid-major conferences" plural. TCU being in a BCS game helps TCU and the MWC Period. The MWC is not angling to bust up the BCS, they are ONLY angling to get their admission ticket to the cartel. Their PR campaign is "We Want a Piece of the Action" not "Bust up the BCS".

Boy that's sort of like asking someone if they want a colonoscopy or a tooth pulled either one without anesthesia. They both do you good, but you don't enjoy it (unless of course...NTTAWWT). Same goes with TCU running the table. In the long run, if they do that, go to a BCS bowl and win, then when we beat them next year, it will mean so much more and might put us into the BCS discussion next year if we have that kind of run. Also side entertainment will be seeing Lou Holtz and Kirk Herbstreit frothing at the mouth about how they don't belong when they beat two BCS teams, plus SMU who looks like they'll have a winning record (or at least .500), two ranked teams when they played them (Utah and BYU), and ran the table against everyone else. "But they didn't have to play Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, Michigan every week like Ohio State did." "Wanna try again, Lou, they stunk." "Okay, then they didn't have to play Rutgers, UConn, Syracuse, Louisville, USF, like Cincinnati did". "Wanna try again, Kirk". "Well they didn't have to play Oregon State, Washington, Washington State, UCLA, and Notre Dame like Southern Cal did". Get my drift.

I'm pulling for the frogs. Always do except when we play them. By the way, do you have to be parked on the Vard at least 2 hours before game time to avoid being shut out from parking in your spot?

Gary Patterson is for the BCS as he testiied before congress, He is one of the biggest BCS supporters out there. If TCU won he would outwardly campaign that the BCS works, He would do more harm than good.
