The Memphis Commerical Appeal C-USA beat writer ranks the Mustangs #3 in the conference, behind Houston and ECU. He also gives a shout out to Margus Hunt for "more blocks that Hasheem Thabeet" (the Memphis Grizzlies lottery pick in this year's NBA draft).

We handed ECU its only conference loss and we are ranked behind them? Is this some kind of BSC calculation?

I think it's just the one reporter's arbitrary opinion. This is the highest ranking of the year for SMU, even the week after we beat ECU.
If the paper puts it online I will post a link.
