Led the nation passing screen passes to one of the top five runners in the country. Not saying we are a stiff defense or anything...but that guy was awesome. I have no idea how they have dropped so many games this year.

Not sure I would consider the utep qb a scrub. The did hang 59 on Houston.

A win is a win.. First you have to learn how to win which SMU is currently learning how to do

SMU was 1-11 last year, why anyone would pee on any of their wins is insane.

these teams maybe having tough years but both UTEP and Rice played very well.

Hey we won AND THAT is what it IS!!! Who cares if it was barely or they almost beat us...the fact is WE WON!!! and NO ONE can take that away!!!

Rice was coming off a bye week and was backed into a corner trying to get its first win, knowing that if it didn't come against Tulane or SMU, it wasn't going to happen. There were a few games in our 0-12 season where SMU made opposing teams very nervous. They needed that game.

UTEP was looking at this game as their last chance to get back into the season. This loss guarantees they won't go bowling. Don't forget that UTEP has some pretty good athletes. Walked to my car in front of a UTEP player's dad talking to his son on the phone. He was trying to reassure his son and you could tell his kid was "disappointed," to say the least. They needed this game.

Yes, they will need to play better to beat Marshall on the road.

UTEP HAD TO WIN TONIGHT TO GO TO A BOWL GAME. RIce is kind of a rival? you better expect marshall and tulane to come out "guns"-a-blazin

We needed help this year (thanks to UTEP and UCF). And our defense is better but still not shutting other teams down. We are finding ways to win despite giving up a lot of yards and not being consistent on offense. And the conference may not be as strong this year as it has been in other years. Non of that means much if we win out and play on national TV for the conference title.

They dropped a lot of games for 2 reasons:

1) Their defense is bad. At one point this season, they were dead last in D1.
2) Their offense is inconsistent. When Vittatoe is on, they can be dangerous. But he can get erratic and start throwing INTs really easily. He's talented, but very streaky.

for all the bad 2ndary play we have had, they came up huge on that last series with UTEP knocking on the door with less than a minute

Maybe you and ponysnob need to go to the UTEP board to do your normal [deleted] and moaning. Must be he!! now that we are winning some games.

Uh Oh -I offended the cheerleaders-

I just want to see us correct a few things so we can beat Marshall on the road then beat Tulane and play for the title. I don't want to go with the "hope we get lucky again strategy". We are not allowed to dissect the game? It gets boring arguing over what bowl we are going to and which mascot we like YAWN! I have been a loyal supporter since 1989 pouring my hard earned dough into this program.
