Please...we have a chance to go to a 1.7 million dollar bowl and our coach is sounding like he wants to win a bar bet by going to something much less....

Don't be sheep...call him out on this...."June, you do want to win the next two games right?...you do want to go to the conference championship right? You do want to win right? You do want to go to the Liberty Bowl for 1 million more dollars right?????

DONT BE SHEEP...FORCE him to answer these questions.

bagice, I'm on your side of the issue *if* we have a choice.

How about we all focus on beating Marshall?

Then we can focus on beating Tulane.

Then we can focus on winning the conference-championship game.

Then, and only then, does this argument matter at all.

BTW anyone else notice "Mele Kalikimaka" at the end of the game?

We have to win the next 3 games first... Let's worry about Marshall on the road Saturday and just take this 1 week at a time.

Win the next game. That is all that matters at this point.

Maybe, JUST MAYBE, he is keeping his players focused on a "lesser bowl" in order to keep the players grounded and keep their heads out of the clouds?

Listen to us, we are talking about the Liberty Bowl vs. the Hawaii Bowl, when any bowl should freaking work. I want us to go to the best bowl possible, but before we get there, we have 2 games left on our schedule. For selfish reasons, the Hawaii bowl is the last bowl on my list, but again, I'll take any bowl over none any day.

Stay focused. Let's just beat Marshall next week.

He might also not want to suffer a beatdown at the hands of an SEC school like Auburn or Georgia. That would not be good for the team going into 2010.

The AutoZone Liberty Bowl is obligated to take the champion.

Hell I don't care where they play. If it's on the continent, I'll go, if not, I won't. If you told me at the beginning of the year SMU would play in a bowl game but I had to watch it in HD on a big TV and couldn't go, I'd take it. Still will.

And I'm not too concerned about the schools books, they'll figure it out.

My understanding is that "traditionally" the Liberty Bowl takes the CUSA Champion, but they are not obligated to. I think that the Conference and the Bowls work together to get the best match-ups (i.e., teams that will sell the most tickets). For example, if Memphis and UTEP play in the CUSA championship game and UTEP wins, the Liberty Bowl can still take Memphis because they think it will be a better draw.

you guys are funny...and sheep..but still funny...The C-USA champion has gone to the Liberty Bowl every year...it is what C-USA teams should strive for... but lets pretend like we dont want all that money and prestige....
