But if we win out...our rightful place is the Liberty Bowl against an SEC opponent...don' be snake charmed by June...we win the conference..we go to the Liberty Bowl...

Honestly,
Bagice may be going at it the wrong way, but you really are dumb if you think the Hawaii bowl would not be anything more than an ego trip for JJ...
Memphis is better for the school and fans who have been waiting a long time for this...
I hope we have the option, but if we do Memphis is where we should be.

Goes back to when JJ was signed - invited to Liberty we go there, if to a a lesser bowl then we go to Hawaii.

I'm much better w/ an ego trip by a coach who has taken us to the brink of a conference championship than I was with that of a coach telling us he'd forgotten more football than any over coffee and donuts and 0-12

I love JJ, but he is not bigger than the school...Hawaii is fine, unless we qualify for Memphis, the largest payout bowl vs best school that a conf. USA team can play in.
It would be great to have a lot of people on this board who have cheered for SMU through a lot of bad years to see SMU represent Conf. USA in the rightful bowl game, and we can all be there...

we just had a great win tonight, yes, but come on we had 15,000 at HOMECOMING. How many do you think are going to go to Memphis in the cold? They didnt come to a game on a beautiful day in Dallas.

It will be more than Hawaii...
Not to mention all the other attributes of the game, more pay, better teams, ect...
