Good job showing the UTEP pass along the sideline that was called incomplete. After seeing it on the big screen the UTEP coach challenged and it could have lost us the game. Also. SMU IS NOW TIED FOR FIRST IN THEIR DIIVVIISSSION! Thats pretty bad since we are 1st in our division. There was many more mess ups. But those two really bothered me.

Still junior high level announcing.

He actually corrected himself after saying we were "tied". Hard to hear it, but he did.

And if I'm being nitpicky, they were actually looking to challenge the play before looking at the replay.

Contrary to your opinion on the P A Guy I think he did a very good job in getting the crowd into the game. His announcements of the downs and encouragement for the team built a lot of excitement.
Granted he did make the mis-take on being tied for first place but that was corrected later.
All of the P A Guys efforts far exceeded this error. I hope he will be around to do all our future
games. Go Mustangs! Lets win out.

June said after the game its a good thing we won or else they would feel pretty bad for having shown that video causing the challenge.

Point of order...or some such [deleted]...I don't think the PA guy decides what's shown on the replay video. The current "PA guy" is miles ahead of his multiple predecessors.

I saw the UTEP crowd jumping up and down, and then the challenge came after the replay. That may have cost us.

But as far as the PA announcer is concerned, it was a great job. And it's only going to get better.

Well I thought he caught it inbounds even before the video but I was on that side of the field. Every play is reviewed so I think that is pretty ticky tacky.

June was very unhappy with the guy showing the replay during the timeout, the officials stood together and watched it from the field.

It's bad enough we only had 20k for a home field advantage. Why do they try to take away every bit of edge we could have at home. Someone deserves to be fired for that. A sophomore intern who is into football would know better.

And when a player fields a kickoff or a punt and runs it up field it should be "Joe Smith on the return." Not "Joe Smith on the reception." His football savvy is questionable - to say the least. Also, if he had said "be careful" one more time after the game - I think I would have jumped over the wall myself. I guess my favorite, so far, is "the pass is no good!"

He clearly caught the ball inbounds. They would have reviewed it anyway.

It only happened once, but it was pretty ridiculous when he encouraged the crowd to get loud as the SMU offense lined up for the play...
