Even if we win the conference, we are going to Hawaii. Last night on the ticket he basically said he was going to petition C-USA.

Sucks for all the fans that have waited for the his moment for all these years.

I would suspect Orsini (you know the guy with the national championship ring) would have something to say about our bowl. Orsini and Jones both know and understanding responsibilities of championship and the need to represent the school and conference if we are the champions.
Champions don't turn down challenges as champions to play in an also run game. If we are the champions, we play as champions in the bowl that host the champion.

How many SMU fans can plan a last minute trip to Hawaii, on Christmas eve no less, right now? I get Jones has his own personal reasons for his return to the islands, but get us a bowl closer to home so we can travel to it! It's easier to take a little road trip/quick flight somewhere close than to Hawaii.

Stop putting SMU fans down. The home side was pretty full. SMU fans have doggedly refused to let this thing die for over 20 years now.

SMU fans deserve respect and appreciation.

For Jones to petition the conference for a lesser bowl, if he's in fact doing that, is a slap in the face of the SMU fan and the school, in general. It sounds like he's not concerned about the SMU fan - at least the ones without $10 mil bank accounts.

I half-jokingly asked last week if Jones views "the SMU fan" as part of the losing culture, like Peruna. I'm not joking now.

What's Orsini say about Jones saying this stuff? It's directly opposed to what Orsini has said about SMU's bowl intentions if it wins C-USA.

Yes, I would definitly be at the Liberty Bowl - nothing could keep me away (other than, like.. having a wreck on the way there)

And anyway, did my comment have anything to do with it being in Memphis for us? I merely said the Hawaii Bowl was a lesser bowl than the Liberty Bowl. And it is. Period. If you WANT us to go to a lesser bowl.... then wow.... I just don't get it.
