I have to admit that I've never made it to a home game on Thanksgiving weekend due to holiday travel home to see the folks; however, I'm going to make it back fot the Tulane game this year. What are the crowds typically like? Is the Boulevarding still in full effect?

Need a great effort by everyone to get the word out and make the game.
Whether or not it is for the division title, 20,000 should be the goal.
Take a break from two day old turkey and get there.

A month ago, I made my flight back to Dallas early that Saturday morning in hopes that we would be in the running for a bowl game. Much to my amazement, if we take care of the Herd I will be watching us clinch a spot in the C-USA Championship!

if we beat Marshall we need to think bigger here. That will be SMU's day in the spotlight if it is for Conference Championship. TCU had last nite but they play relatively weak competition to finish out that they are expected to beat. SMU should be the media darlings that week and spotlight should be on SMU. Thanksgiving is on Thursday-the game is Saturday. I think in a championship scenario we need to shoot for at least 25,000 Thanksgiving Weekend or not.

It will be an empty Blvd and sparse crowd if past years are any indication. The UCF game last year (I think that was the Thanksgiving game) was embarassing. If we beat Marshall it may be different, but the students will be gone and other obligations will limit the crowd. Terrible day to play. Just remember, we actually did not have this game scheduled this day. It was changed due to a scheduling conflict that Tulane had. Do not get your hopes up regardless of marketing, media, or free tickets to anyone.

I will be there. And I hope it is packed. I am merely stating past history.

I would hope that if the Tulane game has championship game implications that even the students will make an effort to be back for the game. If we win at Marshall, there should be a major marketing effort to get the stadium as full as possible for the Tulane game.

Exactly....I hope our AD has some 'attendance booster' plans in place that we can use.

Hey Dutch, have you gone on Craig's list to see if any trailers are for sale?
I had a friend who had some items stolen from his car. They showed up on CLs the next day.

Exactly.
When we win on Saturday night, there should be a push for the crowd starting on Sunday morning.
DMN and the campus paper should be all over it.
This is part of Orsini's job and all it takes is a great effort. If we are 7-4 next Sunday morning, this should be JOB ONE for everyone.

Why would past thanksgiving games be any indication? When was the last time we had anything to play at home on the saturday after thanksgiving? 5 years - or maybe more?
Our students are 50% in state so they can all be back, plus no more then half the out of staters go home for thanksgiving - so I see it effecting only 25% of the POTENTIAL student attendence. I'm among the biggest fans and I would not necessarily kill myself to go to this one in the past - but i would not miss this one.
And when Tulane comes it is time to whip out the cajun food on the boulevard. And dont forget the bloodies.
