The takeaway part is at the end from the Liberty Bowl director:
Steve Ehrhart, the executive director of the Liberty Bowl, has known Jones for 20-plus years. Ehrhart, who said he planned to speak with Jones soon, said he understood SMU had set goals.

But he also pointed out that the Liberty Bowl has helped build C-USA since before its inception and has taken the league's top team since 1996.

"We have first choice," Ehrhart said. "There's so many key games remaining, and we should just wait to see how the games play out on the field."

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's beat the Thundering Herd and the Green Wave and win the CUSA Championship. Then, we can have the debate.
