If you guys really hate JJs agenda of going to hawaii u can.

petition the school to fire JJ and send him back to hawaii, im sure all the hawaii fans would welcome him back with open arms, me included... then hire any other coach and i guarantee you all of them would rather go to the liberty bowl if SMU is conf champs... JJ does things JJs way, and if you dont like it do nothing and hope he leaves, or fire him... or just keep your mouth shut and let the man do what he does best, build a winning program...

Oh no. not stepping on that land mine.
Love what JJ does and how he does it.
Down deep he wants to win every game on the schedule and get to the best bowl game we can.
MY only isue with Hawaii bowl is $$$. I'll be watching on TV like some other SMU fans.

I have no problem with going to Hawaii to play. Sad that I cannot make it. Only issue for me is that it is rare to have the destiny of the Conference Championship in your hands this late in the season, and I do not want the team to lose sight of that. I think Hawaii would be a great reward, especially in memory of Ganzs. But the way the chips are falling, it would be nice to be CUSA Champs or at least get to the Championship game.

If everyone kept their mouth shut there wouldn't be any point in having ponyfans.com. This is a fan messageboard, a place for fans to discuss and debate what is happening with the program. This is a huge issue.
We can't disagree with Jones without somehow wanting to fire him or hating him? I'm glad my boss doesn't work that way, I'd be canned long ago.

It's a f***ing message board, pal! And we'd like to be able to SEE in person if our mustangs go to a bowl game. JJ is killing prospects of doing that by going to Hawaii.

naw there is no money issue.. isnt the bowl money all being put in one pot and being split evenly amongst the teams in cusa?? if so then even if smu goes to hawaii someone is still going to liberty... no one is missing out on any money....

hm why so hostile, i just dont understand how a bunch of fans can be soo unappreciative of JJ when hes basically turned nothing into a bowl game... and possibly a conf championship... and if money is hte issue on why you dont want it to be in hawaii, why dont you save money and make the trip to hawaii? hell, it beats being in tennessee in december. and F off in Hawaii is aloha... lmao.. it means hello and good bye...
also it bothers the hell outta me to see a bunch of fans finding a reason to complain about the one thing that gave them everything... kinda like a bunch of hawaii fans on our boards who complained about the way JJ did things even though he was on the verge of taking us to the sugar bowl... sigh!!! i just dont get it.... then they btich and moan after he left and we started losing like it was the next big fad....

we've only seen suffering and losing for 25 years buddy...we would like to see our team in person at a bowl game. $1,000 plane ticket for Christmas Eve is a little much to ask for most fans.

i understand that sir... but when i found out my team was going to the sugar bowl i made sure i found a way to go... and thats from Hawaii - New Orleans, ive been waiting for soo long to be able to do something as epic as that i just made sure i was able to... i did some pretty stupid things to get there like, quit work, spend 250$ a night at the continental, and go 5 days early... but i found a way cuz it meant that much to me...

Our complaint is that he seems more interested in giving the Hawaii fans a good experience than the SMU fans.

Mr. Pony-I'm telling you what no Liberty Bowl official will. They are dancing in the streets in Memphis about June Jones' statement. The Liberty Bowl would never pick SMU and our 15,000 fans unless they had to. Now June Jones has given them an out where they don't have to be the bad guy by taking a school other than the CUSA winner. Jones instead will take the public heat and the Liberty Bowl avoid the heat of insulting the CUSA winner. They will make public statements that will be be supportine of their "tradition of taking the CUSA winner" but that is just window dressing. CUSA, the Liberty Bowl and the Hawaii Bowl will quietly arrange for SMU to go to Hawaii if that becomes necessary. Its going to happen so as Clayton Williams said you might as well sit back and enjoy it.
