I've frequently asked why, even when we've won, we feel the need to make it so darn "interesting." Why can't we just blow someone out every now and then?

This article explains it. http://researchnews.osu.edu/archive/osumich.htm Basically, our coaches are orchestrating the games to play on our emotions and induce a higher state of euphoria.

"“You need the negative emotions of thinking your team might lose to get you in an excited, nervous state,” Knobloch-Westerwick said. “If your team wins, all that negative tension is suddenly converted to positive energy, which will put you in a euphoric state.”

Unfortunately, this strategy failed in the WSU and Navy games.

This explains the third and a foot and we throw 30 yards downfield, thus killing the drive. I will admit one thing, if that pass had been just a yard shorter, it was six.
