"If people really want to win here, if they're going to hold the football coach and the football coaching staff here to a high standard, they need to put their money where their mouth is. I don't believe that's ever been done here. I don't believe it was done one bit during the time I was here."
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I and PonyDoh can say without question that Mike Sanford is absolutely right. PonyDoh and I lived out there in days of Tony Knapp, Harvey Hyde and other no-name successors. That athletid department is built around the basketball program. The Silver Bowl has an isolated feel to it and if re-treads like John Robinson couldn't even move it a bit forward, then that tells you something.

There appears to be a lack of support for the University in general. When I visited Vegas for the WAC Basketball Tournament back in the late 90s, one of the things that the UNLV fans would talk about was the disproportion of financial support that the University was receiving when compared to UNR. Basically, UNLV was seen as the redhead stepchild. Always figured that with their success in Basketball back in the day that the University would have benefitted but that isn't the case.

I think that's absolutely right. Fair or unfair, the University of Nevada system has always been accused of giving UNR more resources because it had more of the "real" college campus environment to it.

IMO, the only reason why UNLV is in the Mountain West is because Las Vegas is a central point in the conference so some postseason tournaments can be played there. And their basketball program adds depth to the conference.
