Go to this site: http://www.profootballhof.com/hof/colleges.aspx and notice that while SMU like Penn State has 5 NFL Hall of Famers, SMU gets cut from the list at the top. One of you should write them a letter.

Looks like a database query thing. Took the top 10, ordering by number and then alphabetically. I guess SMU is #11. I guess we'll just have to wait for Morstead to make the Hall of Fame. :)

you didn't read it man. The top is ranking Colleges by most NFL Hall of Famers. SMU has the same amount as Penn State - 5. Moreover, SMU has the 5th most NFL Hall out of any college

What's your reason for not writing it, Mrpimp?

I don't think you are reading it right - there are 10 on the list. 9 have more HoFers than we do. Penn is the last, but alphabetically Penn comes before SMU. If the code is set up to the the top 10 schools, and isn't set up to look for ties, this is what you get.

1. Southern California (11)
2. Notre Dame (10)
3. Michigan (8)
4. Alabama (7)
5. Illinois (6)
5. Minnesota (6)
5. Ohio State (6)
5. Oregon (6)
5. Syracuse (6)
6. Penn State (5)

6. SMU (5)
7. Texas (4)

IS IT MAKING SENSE?

Doesn't that make us tied for 10th since there are 5 teams tied for 5th?

Yeah, that's why Penn State was voted No. 1 in '82 over SMU too. :)

Shouldn't it be:
1. Southern California (11)
2. Notre Dame (10)
3. Michigan (8)
4. Alabama (7)
5. Illinois (6)
5. Minnesota (6)
5. Ohio State (6)
5. Oregon (6)
5. Syracuse (6)
10. Penn State (5)
10. SMU (5)
11. Texas (4)

Either way, we all agree SMU should be listed with Penn. We are saying that it is probably just a database that pulls the top 10 qualifying teams, and we are being left out for Penn because of the alphabet. There was no human being writing the list who chose to omit SMU.

The list should go:

1. Southern California (11)
2. Notre Dame (10)
3. Michigan (8)
4. Alabama (7)
5(t). Illinois (6)
5(t). Minnesota (6)
5(t). Ohio State (6)
5(t). Oregon (6)
5(t). Syracuse (6)
10(t). Penn State (5)
10(t). SMU (5)

Not as sexy. But more accurate.
