Sam I Am is awesome. Love those Houston area RB's. I was so glad when he chose Rice over A&M when he left Michigan.

hE had a great HS career near HOUSTON (sort of like the Burkhead kid from Plano HS that went to Nebraska)..went to Mich only to find out he was 5th on depth charts at rb, went back home to RICE, the kid has some athletic abiltity (including that "it" factor,) lets see what he does to Rice

It was just homesickness really. I threw in the Michigan sucks part just because. Although it may have played some part in his leaving since he was recruited by Carr then RichRod came in.

He wasn't the lead back but he had a lot of success as a true frosh (on somewhat limited touches)and was certainly not 5th on the depth chart. Stats below (I think these are from 8 or 9 games he played that season).

4.1 ypcarry, 486 rushing yards- 3 TDs
9.2 ypcatch, 19 receptions, 175 yards, 1 TD

The homesickness was apparently a big deal and a main driver in his leavingl. there were artciles people had posted on pf.com discussing it if anyone feels like researching.
