If we make it to that game, which would be played on our HOME FIELD, would that not satisfy all the people who are disappointed that June wants to take the team to hawaii after we have waited so long for this success? it would me. if we win it, they can go play a bowl in China for all I care as long as ESPN covers it.

Bowl game is a great accomplishment, don't get me wrong - i'm extremely excited about that, but 6 teams from our conference also get to go to a bowl, every year. only TWO get to play for the Championship, and there can be only ONE Champ.

don't lose sight of what's important right now though. BEAT MARSHALL!!!!!!!!!!

If we win out, it is at Ford. We hold the tie breaker with the top two Eastern Division schools.

you're right. it's not for certain. there could be a 3 way tie in the east (dig through the threads to find it) that would i think trickle to Southern Miss. which i think could mean we would play there. seemed WAY too unlikely. But i guess anything can happen w/ a three-way tie in the big12 south last year

If SMU wins out , the game would be at Ford. Current East Leader is ECU and we hold the tiebreaker against ECU and would have better conference record against any other East team.

If SMU loses a game, but Houston loses a game, it conceivably be the East team that hosts it.

but most likely, ECU will win the East, and we have the tie-break with them, so there you go.

Thanks.
The bowl is even more special though. ALL our fans deserve a shot at it. 8)

if we don't all quit worrying about June wanting to play in the Hawaii bowl, and focus on beating Marshall, then this is all moot.

No, it is for certain that if SMU wins out, SMU will have best conference record unless ECU also wins out. If both win out, SMU holds tiebreaker against ECU. If ECU doesn't win out, there could be a tie in the East, but the only question is who comes to Ford.

I will be satisfied in general if we are in any bowl game at all. That being said, if we win the conference, I still think we should go to the Liberty Bowl. (More practice time, take on the best competition, more practice time, don't snub the bigger bowl, more practice time, outside shot at getting ranked, more practice time) But I am unbelievably excited regardless of what happens from here on out.
