On the bright side

We were here in 2006, looking at needing one win to get that first since '84. We were playing a team that we thought had less talent (Rice), and we had a hot Freshman QB who was showing a lot of talent in spite of his lack of experience.

That was a road game in a stadium that we had a history of dying in. This time we get to seal the deal at home in front of the Thanksgiving-skipping die-hard fans. There are no automatic W's in football and especially not for us. But I like our chances.

I like them as well. Tulane of course will be playing for bragging rights of spoiling our season. Our kids have to accept the lose of a potential conference title.

TG weekend can be a lonely weekend for kids that have a game to play. As much as one would like to make Thursday special, it is a real let down to eat on a campus without any activity. Tulane faces the same thing so no disadvantage there. It will be up to the coaches to try and make a lonely holiday festive for our kids.

It is important cause we want these kids focused on winning Saturday and not dwelling on a holiday weekend without family.

A few friends of mine has pointed out that we have many people hurt or banged up on both sides of the line.

We need more depth and to O-line has some good red shirts for next year. WE need a few more D-line guys or some JUCO help.

The lines have been slow and sluggish the last two games. The schemes do not look to be the same as early in the year.

Heal up Mustangs. The future looks bright and the W's are more than what I was expecting.

Now, I want two more :D :D :D

The real bright side is, for the 20th year in a row, we are a very young team. What I saw yesterday was a young team going through some growing pains on both sides of the ball. There is a lot of potential on this team.
