Since we start playing them soon ...thought I would pass along what they may be thinking to the north of us in Denton even though they just broke ground on their new Football Stadium last Saturday..

Updated the link. Losing Vizzo and having Riley injured sure didn't help. They've lost four games by four or fewer points. They lost another one by seven. Their two wins were by 10 and 19 points. They need to keep Dodge around and allow him to keep building.

Were things really that bad before UNT brought him in? It seemed like things fell off a cliff after DD won those four or so titles in a row. Was it around the time that their QB was killed in a car accident?

They won't fire Dodge. Too cheap.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Hey I didn't start this thread :)

In all seriousness, it was a joke of a hire when it was made. I honestly could not believe UNT, who had seen recent success with conference titles and New Orleans Bowl appearances, went after a high school coach who knew nothing of recruiting, fundraising, and leading a college football team. There is no reason why UNT shouldn't be at or near the top of the Sun Belt every year w/ the talent of the surrounding area and the caliber of opponents in their conference. They have been completely non-competitive in roughly half the games Dodge has coached and there is no reason to think they will improve with him at the helm. However, I do believe they will learn their lesson after he wets the bed again next year and go find someone who has some experience at the college level.

Dodge should not have taken the job without the money committment to hire a mix of good college assistants, especially coordinators, to go along with some high school guys he brought with him. They had very good recruiting classes early but the momentum was lost after the losses mounted and then some unwanted racial problems when coaches tried to clean up the language and disrespect only to learn that it is not politically correct to impose higher moral standards on young adults. I hope he overcomes these odds but it doesn't look good.
