When a legit top 25 team?

If our progress continues at this rate, will we be a legit top 25 team in 2012? 2013? 2011???
Gotta remember our schedule gets a lot tougher. Next year we have Tech, TCU, WSU & Navy; 2011 we have A&M, Baylor (both programs getting markedly better imo), Navy & TCU which is a murderer's row; 2012 we have Baylor, SFA, A&M & TCU & this class with Padron, Hunt, JaGared Davis & et all would be seniors. Getting impact players & good DL to insert into the rotation, like Chet Moss, will make a huge difference (there's a chance he'll get offered by UT).

I remain confident that we will soon learn that WSU is buying out of the return game at Ford.
I am also confident that A&M will do the same for the 2012 Ford date, unless we agree to play at Cowboys Stadium, which is something I have little interest in.

I think we beat WSU at home next year (if we don't have a buy-out). Navy is winnable. Tech could be a shootout. Remember we'll have an extra month of practice for the first time in 25 years. And spring ball will be a great QB competition. JJ doesn't mind 55-49 games. This year we averaged close to 30 ppg. Next year let's aim for 40 ppg.

If it is 2012, then that will truly be the end of the world...

I hope A&M doesn't buy out because I think it would be a good game to tell how far our progress has come playing against a good Big 12 team. After watching them on Thanksgiving with Johnson I think he could be the start of something over there at A&M. Personally if we did not play that game at home in Ford I would rather us play them in the Cotton Bowl than the Cowboys Stadium

We need the game at Ford.
I hope it's a "stimulus dollar" amount that the Aggies have to pay to get out of that game.
We'll get the respect with conference championships and bowl wins.
Go Ponies!

Dooby,
I agree with you on the A&M situation. I would rather let them opt out than go to JerryWorld and have 50,000 Aggies show up at an SMU home game.

as opposed to being at Ford and only having 30,000aggies show up?

I am hoping, at Ford Stadium, it will be 50/50.

We could also bump the ticket prices up to the Jerry World level with all the aggies fighting for a seat.

That Aggie squad is going to be Top 25 by that time. The have a really young team, probably as young as us, and they put up 39 against a stingy Texas defense. Either way, that game's gonna be a fistfight.

Gents, SMU will get into the polls next season at some point as long as their loss total never exceeds 4 - which is a likely scenario. Don't be surprised if they open next season in the "Others Receiving Votes" category.

Anyone know who we play from the East next year?
Known games:
TTech
TCU
WSU
Navy
Rice
Houston
UTEP
Tulane
Tulsa
?
?
?
Looks like 3 sure L's right there, but the rest quite winnable.

Should be the same as this year, unless something has changed. This was year one of the 2-year cycle, wasn't it? So the schedule should be exactly the same except for adding Texas Tech instead of SFA. More of the big games should be at home too. In addition to WSU and TCU, we should also be getting Houston, Tulsa, Marshall, and UAB at home.
