And we want TCU to win to damage the BCS? If Patterson won he would only help the BCS cartel by spinning it in a positive way (like he is doing now). Here is the link to the article.

Umm....the Mountain West is trying to get admitted into the BCS. Why would they speak out against it?

Patterson wants to win a national championship under the current system. In fact, he is a bit obsessed with this point.

You don;t think the BCS has Patterson on their payroll do you?

"Is it easier to win one game for a championship? Or to have to win four?" Patterson asked. "If you have a playoff, you practice and get on a plane and play. And if you lose, it's over. If you go to a bowl game, you're there seven days and the kids can enjoy a place and get rewarded."

No, not on the payroll. But I think the MWC has been given the "shut up and we'll probably let you in if we add the Cotton Bowl" instructions from the BCS. And GP's argument is sound--from a BCS coach's perspective. It does make it easier to win a championship (if you are in the system)--less big games you have to win, and you don't have to worry about getting knocked off by Boise.

MWC has not been given the shut up. Gary Patterson has been pro BCS for years and the BCS knows that. He has been given his pro BCS talking points. It's almost sickening to listen to.

He's always been pro bowl game, but he's never been anti-playoff. And he isn't in that article, either. Blown out of proportion, if you ask me, which isn't surprising.

Patterson wants to win a national championship under the current system. In fact, he is a bit obsessed with this point.

Clearly the correct line of thought would be to not want to win a national championship.

Patterson testified before congress that he did not want a playoff. He has always been anti-playoff. You are out of line.
