Pretty ridiculous that Darius Johnson is on this.

4 games, 10-107 1 TD. Those are all-freshman CUSA credentials? I hope he turns into a great player for us, but come on.

DJ surpises me, but as someone pointed out to me elsewhere, JaGared Davis would have made it in my mind (and others over at Rivals). I totally forgot he was a freshman.

You're right. Let's take him off. SMU is getting too much exposure.

Has nothing to do with that and you know that. Do you think he honestly deserved it? I don't. Calling it like I see it.

You measure what he did vs Padron and Reed and it's not even close. Those two absolutely deserved to be on there. And good for them.

I don't disagree. The last play I remember him making was the fumble on the 1 in the Houston game 5 games ago.

Why do we say this is ridiculous? Can you name another Freshman wide receiver for another school? I looked it up. One Freshman WR ranks in the top 10 in any category. Wilson from Marshall and he did make the list, too.

Edit: Looking around the league, maybe UCF's Quincy McDuffie has a gripe, but he is just comparable.

Edit (2): Having looked around the league, I can say there are no standout freshman WR's in Conference USA. 10 catches for 107 yards and 1 TD was pretty darn good for a Freshman WR in 2009. Maybe the lack of FR depth at WR in C-USA is what is actually "riduculous."

MVPs and Superlatives to be released Wednesday. Margus could possibly be Special Teams Player of the Year. And I would think Shawnbray McNeil would have a shot along with UH's James Cleveland for Newcomer of the Year.
