i'll be happy the day someone invents a "hover-ad" blocker that is practical to use,
i hear there are some "hover-ad" blockers available but they almost cause as much
pain as the hover-ads.

I only get the pop-up ads occasionally. Use the latest firefox.

Same here. The Chrome browser is excellent at blocking most pop-ups.
When will I start feeling stimulated??

chrome is awesome. catches the popups i have reported. so much better than ie

It really irritates me when these intrude on the enjoyment of our readers. If you email me, I'll get notified on my iPhone immediately, so I can get working to correct it immediately. If you just post something on the forums, I might not see it until the evening.
