My nomination

I want to be the first to go out on a limb and nominate Keylon Kincade for PonyFans.com's Pony of the Week award. I don't know how the soccer teams, the volleyball team, the swimming/diving team or the cross country team will do this weekend, but KK had a career day when it was clear that he was the entire offense, and Tulsa had everything stacked to stop him. He was simply amazing.

Way to go, KK!

Gotta go with giacfsp (what kind of handle is that?) and PonySnob on this one. KK for Pony of the Week is kind of a lay-up.

KK is a heck of a player but he can't do it alone. I saw the Houston-TCU game tonight, which TCU won 65-58. What an offensive explosion. Once Houston gets a defense they are going to be top 25 easy and maybe top 10. With our current plodding style I don't know how we can compete with our future C-USA mates. It's like we are in first gear and they are in 5th. Those 2 are in our division. Kind of scary.

They scored 58 on TCU's defense?
(Gulp) .... wow.

KK for Pony of the Week is a no-brainer. Tulsa had the whole team at the line of scrimmage, and he still put up about 180. He's amazing.

TCU has an obvious big weakness in their pass defense-they excell at run defense which is superlative-that's why Tech or UT would take TCU apart-but again I tip my hat to the resourceful Froggies who yet again found a new way to win with a backup QB and injuries throughout their backfield which has held back their production. It sure helps with 3rd stringers like Robert Merrill. That's why complaining about injuries is really an excuse for poor recruiting. Everybody has injuries-the teams with solid recruiting replace the injured with competent replacements.
