Re: How many SMU fans are expected to be in Hawaii? Not to be a downer, I cannot imagine more than 1,000 fans traveling there (not counting band, cheer, etc..). In the ticket thread, the highest row I have seen mentioned for tickets in hand is row 16. And that's all in just one section. The bottom deck or 'orange level' is rows 1-29.

Re: How many SMU fans are expected to be in Hawaii?Add a couple thousand more Warrior fans cheering on JJ, and the military SMU fans for a night, and we have a traveling Amon Carter-like crowd.
Re: How many SMU fans are expected to be in Hawaii? On Monday I heard we were somewhere between 500 and 1000 tickets sold not including the donated tickets. This number includes tickets sold that will not be used. I wonder how many Nevada will bring and what the overall bowl ticket sales are at this time. I believe the stadium holds 50,000.
Re: How many SMU fans are expected to be in Hawaii? Its a shame - since it is not the distance - its the date. Had the bowl been between Chrsitmas and New Years you would have triple that number easy. You just cant rationalize being in Hawaii on Christmas Eve if you have kids.
Re: How many SMU fans are expected to be in Hawaii?I'm pretty sure Santa visits Hawaiian children too. Probably leaves them good presents too like surfboards.

Re: How many SMU fans are expected to be in Hawaii?I am very impressed with SMU fans. You guys are definitely building a great program here and have dedicated fans. No one ever travels to the Hawaii Bowl lol, and you guys are selling a fair amount of tickets. Im sure in a few years you guys will be a force in college football.
Haha, I doubt Nevada brings 100. We don't have anywhere near the excitement you guys have as we're used to these middle-tier bowls and the economy sucks in Reno.
Re: How many SMU fans are expected to be in Hawaii?there is nothing like xmas eve in hawaii. Plus with the stangs making the trip, I am excited to be there! There are about 30 of us freshman making the trip out there. Glad the mustangs started tearing it up when I got here! Cannot wait for the next 3 seasons they have to offer while I am here. Pony up!

Re: How many SMU fans are expected to be in Hawaii?
I believe there are a good amount of upperclassmen planning to make the trip as well. The last few weeks of classes were interesting - a good amount of people spent the time before class (before the professor walked in the room) talking about trip plans to Hawaii for the bowl, rather than the party they were planning to attend on Thursday night.
Re: How many SMU fans are expected to be in Hawaii?Unfortunately I will not be there. All the kids and grandkids are coming over Christmas morning to open gifts. Wife would have probably agreed to go, but it would have been a little cold around the house if I had suggested it.
When will I start feeling stimulated??
Re: How many SMU fans are expected to be in Hawaii?1,000 would be about right. I wholeheartedly agree that the timing of the bowl and not the location is the reason the numbers are not much higher. Had the bowl even been on the 23rd I would have found a way to be there. Unfortunately, this will be my 7 month old daughter's first Christmas. I will not miss that for anything.
Re: How many SMU fans are expected to be in Hawaii?1,000 SMU fans, plus the military base people. At least 2,500 fans total.
