The post DP record under other coaches has been better under slightly more restrictions, and supposedly with lesser quality recruits than we are told that we are getting now. The previous coaches did not use JUCOs, have PE majors, or have open admissions any more than we do now. The comparison that matters is what have the coaches done at SMU compared to each other, not whether SMU is competing on the same terms as other schools. Our record in the SWC was better than when we joined the WAC. And when we were left in the WAC-less grouping, our record got even worse. I do think that being in the C-USA will help recruitng, but that will not be enough to save the program. We shall have to change coaches once again, and the sooner the better. I am sorry that things did not work out for coach Bennett. Surely he is suffering as much as we are, but we must put him and ourselves out of our misery, then move on

We lost to a team that has not outrecruited us (even though they have a couple of jucos). Being outrecruited has always been the excuse. We had the better players and still lost. I have lost my train of thought. Time to go to church. My minister went to SMU. I can't escape it.
