Is the Nevada pass D as horrible as the stats say?I know they are statistically one of the worst pass D's in the nation, but is that a function of some massive blow outs by a few teams, or consistent horrible D all season? I haven't seen them play this year.

You are correct that you shouldn't just look at the yardage, which could be affected by blowouts. The only school that gave up more yards is UAB--Bo threw for 353 yards and 3 TDs against UAB and ended up with a lower QB rating than most of UAB's opponents. Opponent QBs have a 155.34 QB rating against Nevada. Hawaii's QB threw for 374 yards and 3 TDs in their game at Nevada this season, and Hawaii also ran for 118 yards. The big unknown is how Padron will do in his first bowl game. There *will* be receivers open against Nevada's secondary, but Padron has to find them quickly. Nevada has two good DEs that can put pressure quickly on the QB, so Padron may need to make faster decisions than normal. Nevada has 29 sacks this season and had a lot of QB hurries in the games that I watched.
