When your 0-8 it can all seem pretty ugly.

The Good - KK, ran for a personal record of 185 yards and in the process averaged over 5 ypc. That is over 5 ypc for the last two games combined! Phillips - 12-44 rushing and 2-4-0 passing for 18 yards for only an 87.8 rating but hey that is better than either Bartell or Wallis this year. Rutledge - int for a TD. Too bad it was wasted on this game. KOR and Punt returns were good. Turnover margin was even which is an improvement.

The Bad - Offense, despite KK only 10 offensive points. No passing to speak of. Punting average only 33.6.

The Ugly - 17 penalties for an SMU record. Defense - adding to the false starts up front were the breakdowns in the backfield. 2 TDs for over 30 yards. Coaching - penalties, taking Phillips out, clueless defense, clueless offense. Burning all TOs early in the second half. The unexpected defense seemed to confuse the coaches more than the freshman QB Phillips. Announcing that Phillips would play the rest of the season and then not playing him much. And saying that the starter for the next game was in question.
