agree 100%. Tear it up next year McNeal and raise your draft stock. You are awesome town and I want a full year with a competent QB. Imagine what he could do with a full year of defenses having to respect the Hawaii Bowl MVP?!!?

Only if they get him an insurance policy to have in case of injury (i.e. Sam Bradford) .

I will get on the details of this for PF's. Had a big argument at the end of the game with my dad about where the funding comes from. Too many Mai Tai's to figure it out now, but I know the schools can at the very least help you finance it somehow. Will have some official info when I can type with two eyes open.

I think he will stay. If SMU had lost or lost big, he would probably go. After tonight's game, the sky is the limit for SMU and McNeal. Didn't SMU have like 8 or 9 games on either ESPN or CBSTV last year? In 2010 SMU should have a bunch of TV time.

In 2010 TT will be on TV as well as TCU, Houston and I suspect several others. Now is the time to stay, not go. I don't think JJ would be quiet if SMU were put into the same situation as TCU finds it self in. I don't know if the BCS could stand someone demanding to get in.

Who knows how high in the draft he might go this year? After next year, with all the national attention, should go in the early rounds, like 1,2,or 3.

hate to say anything negative about a guy who has been through what e has and has meant so much to our success this season...but I could have done without his endzone antics. As the announcers said...you can't take the U out of a guy who has played at Miami.

After all this mess, he knew, we knew, we won, and it did not matter anymore.

He's too tiny to be a draft pick at RB. He needs to gain 15-20 lbs anyway.

To get this type of insurance you need to be rated as draftable by the NFL. I do not know the specifics but after evaluations you must be rated at a certain level that will insure that you will be drafted. Then the policy is issued and paid for after the athlete is drafted out of his signing money or paid out of his pay out if he is injured. The key is being rated as a sure draftable athlete. His size may work against him on that basis.

I love watching this guy play more than any player I've ever watched at SMU, including Ramon Flanigan. (He's actually got a supporting cast.) Of course, I got to SMU in 1991 and wasn't a fan until then, so I did not have the benefit of consistently watching the Pony Express. Nevertheless, he is one of the most amazing, quickest athletes I've watched at SMU, and I pray he doesn't leave. I want to watch him torch defenses for us again next year. Thanks, Shawnbrey, for taking a chance on SMU and thank you SMU for giving him a chance to play for us! (And, thanks NCAA for clearing him to play this year!)

He's the MVP this year. No question about it, and anybody else would be an injustice.

I think he'll stay for the same reason he came back to Dallas in the first place: family.

Another year on the hilltop working on strength and getting more national exposure next year will work out nicely for #8 as well.

He'll be back.
