Finally...

I don't post too often here though I do read the posts of Mustang fans. I remember last season as the team struggled and I saw, and felt, the frustration of many of you. As someone who has been following June Jones since his Houston Gambler days I knew it was a matter of time... and tonight, finally, SMU Mustang fans were treated to what the Run & Shoot Offense is all about.

At one point during the game Kyle Padron turned to Jones and shrugged his shoulders as if to say - This is too easy - I've seen many QB w/ that same look. It is rather fitting that what happened tonight was the final game of the season because it provides a glimpse of what is around the corner.

Congrats to all Mustang fans not only on the victory, but on the years of sticking by your team when there was little hope or reason to. The Run & Shoot Offense is kind of fun, isn't it?

Padron looks like an NFL QB at 18. He has a very high football IQ and a very accurate arm.....that forward pitch to McNeal on 3rd down was impressive.

The offensive line was outstanding. Padron had all day to throw.

Sterling Moore showed a lot of guts.....he was out there throwing his body around and he made several big plays early that kept Nevada from 1st downs.

Chase Kennemer has been a treat to watch this year. That guy was in on every play. It is going to be tough to replace him.

Shawnbrey McNeal, the team's MVP, had another great game. The guys does everything for this offense. btw, the putt and dance celebration was awesome! I HOPE we see a lot more McNeal celebrations next year in an SMU jersey.

Thank you Mustangs and specifically, JJ. That was a lot of fun.......please keep it coming.
