Next seasons projected starters lol...

Offense:

LG: LiRiebus
C: Tennison
RG: Turner/Atchison
RT: JT Brooks
WR: Aldrick Robinson

WR: Darius Johnson

Defense:

RE: Margus Hunt
ILB: Pete Fleps
ILB: Taylor Reed
OLB: Youri Yenga
OLB: JG Davis
CB: Sterling Moore
CB: Derrius Bell (if he returns from injury..if not McConico)

Assuming all eligible juniors come back, how many starters are we losing?

Wilkerson is gonna start at WR next year....and Frazier doesn't play NT unless its an emergency situation...it's not his natural position...Pittman will probably take over, he rotated with Parham whenever he got tired. Parham told me Pitt goes in on a lot of passing downs because he has great pass-rushing ability.

Bradly Hanes should take one of the starting receiver spots. I'm not as enamoires with Darius Johnson like most on this board seem to be. He's fragile, and worse, inconsistent. Also the two frosh OLs should compete for starting time next year. Tennison will have a battle to hang on to thestarring C spot.

The coaches have been talking about moving Frazier to NT if Hunt continues to improve as theY expect him to. Not sure if I agree that NT isn't Frazier's natural position. He is something like 6'3 280+, so he has the size plus DE speed.

I find it hard to think that true freshmen WR's will play going forward unless they are REALLY something special given the time it takes to become knowledgable with our offense. I think Wilkerson starts over Jeremy Johnson next year. I would love to be in a position to redshirt most of the incoming class, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

O'Guin is enrolling early this January to compete for the NT spot and he is 320 now (that is what a NT in a 3-4 should be) from my understanding. Mason wants to leave Frazier at DE which is his natural position. Also, Chris Parks will compete at CB.

Exactly, DE is Frazier's natural position. His height and weight doesn't really matter....if thats the case then theoretically he could put on 20 lbs. and move to OL flawlessly (or lose weight and play another position)....in the 3-4 the NT has a completely different job from the DE's. Not that I'm saying Hunt won't play at all, I'm sure if he improves he'll just start rotating with the Thompson and Frazier more frequently (like we;ve been seeing anyways). Frazier played nose tackle one game (I think it was the UTEP game?) and that was only because Parham was tired and Pitt got injured that game.

I belive Frazier was a DT in high school and the year he played in JC so it is his natural position.

By my count, I think there are only 5 starters graduating:

Offense: Emmanuel Sanders, Mitch Enright
Defense: Chase Kennemer, Rock Dennis, Bryan McCann

Don't forget Bryce Hudman when listing starters we're losing — he quietly played a very important role on defense and on special teams. He'll be missed more than we realize.

QB: Padron
RB: McNeal (if he's back) or Butler
WR: Robinson, Wilkerson, Beasley, D. Johnson
LT: Beachum
LG: LeRibeus
C: Tennison
RG: Turner
RT: Brooks

DL: Thompson, Frazier, Hunt
LB: Davis, Reed, Fleps, Yenga
CB: Bell (if healthy), Moore
FS: Banjo
SS: Scott

P/K: Szymanski
PR: D. Johnson
KR: Butler/Johnson

let's hope we can solve the NG problem because I'd like to see Frazier remain at the DE position along with Thompson and Hunt. Keep rotating those guys and keep 'em fresh to pressure opposing QBs.

Let's hope we have great competition at every position on the field. Once we have a 2 deep with no huge talent disparity, this team should be ready to compete with anyone on our schedule.
