Where to stay in Lubbock?

Postby ponyfan08 » Fri Dec 25, 2009 11:39 am

I am planning my trip for the Tech game in September. What is the closest /best place to stay while in Lubbock?

Never to early to plan!

I hear there is a nice new 4 Star Hotel in Lubbock that is right off the Tech campus, located in an upscale area of new condos, shops, and restaurants.

Thanks ponyfan08. I went ahead and booked a room at the Overton Hotel. Why not? You can cancel for no charge up until 6PM the day of the reservation. I would assume hotels this close to the campus are sold out on game weekends. This hotel looks like it is very close to the stadium. God-willing see ya in Lubbock on Sept 4th, 2010.

My preference would be:
1. Overton
2. Embassy Suites
3. Hampton
4. Old-a$$ Holiday Inn that used to serve as team hotel (hoping they'll be at the Overton this time)

hasn't there been some talk of moving this game-I think I read about it on the Tech board-something about Tech wanting to move the game for TV. But then again, TV should want this game now. At least next year the networks should pick us up more

If they move it, it won't cost a thing, I'll make a phone call, either way I walk to the game. Looks like a nice new place. BEAT TECH!
